Slake
Slake is a software dedicated to analyzing the liquefaction hazard of soils subjected to seismic loads based on the exploitation of in-situ tests.

Quantification of liquefaction hazard
Slake allows the calculation of safety factors against liquefaction according to the NCEER direct semi-empirical reference method (Youd and Idriss, 2001):
- Based on SPT and/or CPT(u) test results.
- Differentiating between stress states in virgin ground and under conditions concomitant with seismic action.
- With controlled consideration of calculation hypotheses and various correction factors (actual seismic magnitude MSF, confining pressure Kσ, etc).
- Taking into account, through a complementary calculation option, the specific recommendations of the AFPS Technical Notebook “Liquefaction” (2021).

Going further
These analyses are complemented by the calculation of additional indicators:
- Evaluation of seismically induced settlements based on Ishihara and Yoshimine curves (1992), according to the charts of Zhang, Robertson and Brachman (2002) and/or Idriss and Boulanger (2008).
- Calculation of cumulative liquefied heights with respect to the limit safety factor and/or a predefined safety level.
- Evaluation of liquefaction potential (LPI) according to Iwasaki (1981).

A decision support software
The Slake software makes accessible all the necessary tools to assist the user in their analysis:
- Management of multiple SPT and CPT/CPTu soundings in the same project.
- Interactive graphical display of input data and analysis results, with the ability to zoom and adjust axis scales.
- Comparison mode allowing the superposition of analysis results for different soundings.
- Possibility of projecting planar representations of the main results (kriging interpolation).
- Display of results in exportable tables for further processing.
- Independent assistant for soil liquefaction susceptibility analyses in compliance with Eurocode 8 Part 5 criteria.

At every step, the user is guided to conduct their calculation in an informed manner thanks to:
- Numerous help figures and automatic assistants to facilitate the definition of calculation parameters.
- A systematic reminder of units for each parameter.
- The ability to display and edit all advanced parameters.
- A detailed technical manual, accessible directly from the project definition screen.

A user-friendly interface
- Easy navigation among the different project soundings and permanent display of calculation status for each sounding.
- Soil and sounding data import tools allowing on-the-fly unit conversion.
- Generation of customizable calculation reports for presenting input data and analysis results.
